ABOUT GMCLA's ANNUAL GALA
GMCLA’s Annual Gala has raised funds for youth education, including our Alive Music Project and countless community concerts that we provide for free.
The Annual Gala also celebrates those who have given selflessly to the Chorus and to the LGBTQ community by lifting their voices to advance human rights by honoring them with GMCLA’s Voice Awards.
The 2025 Gala evening begins with GMCLA’s performance of Dancing Queens – a musical tribute to the most iconic dance melodies of every genre. Immediately following the concert, gala guests will be treated to a lively dinner, auction, and GMCLA's voice awards in the historic and beautifully restored Art Deco lobby of the Saban Theatre.

TRISTAN SCHUKRAFT
Known as “The CEO of Everything Gay,” Tristan Schukraft is a technology entrepreneur, turned hotelier nightlife aficionado and producer. An LA native, now residing in Puerto Rico, Tristan’s entrepreneurial journey began with the founding of ID90.COM, an e-ticketing platform for airline personnel. Following the success of ID90, Schukraft later went on to establish MISTR, the largest telemedicine platform dedicated to HIV prevention and long-term HIV care which currently serves over 500,000 patients across the United States. Tristan is a producer of the Off-Broadway Show Drag: The Musical. His hospitality and nightlife portfolio began with the acquisitions of The Tryst beachfront hotel and Circo nightclub, both located in San Juan, Puerto Rico, later acquiring The Tryst in Puerto Vallarta and the iconic LGBTQ+ nightlife venue, The Abbey in West Hollywood, California, and The Blue Whale, The Pavilion Nightclub, The Canteen and more in The Pines on Fire Island.
GMCLA is excited to present Tristan Schukraft with our Civic Voice Award for his commitment to expanding healthcare access for HIV prevention and treatment and investing in and preserving LGBTQ+ community hubs throughout the U.S.

BRUCE VILANCH
Bruce Vilanch is a multiple Emmy-winning writer, actor, comedian and stripper, if you'll let him, who spent a number of years as a Hollywood square, just to the left of Whoopi, if that's possible. he starred on Broadway and on a national tour as Edna Turnblad, housewife-superstar, in the musical HAIRSPRAY, and has been in projects as diverse as The Morning After, with Jane Fonda, The Ice Pirates, with Anjelica Huston, and Celebrity Fit Club, where he lost thirty pounds that he promptly found. He co-wrote 25 Oscar telecasts, as well as Grammys, Tonys, Emmys -- he's an EGOT of award writers, whatever that means -- and, perhaps of more interest here, has organized, written, hosted, or cavorted in a tsunami of benefits for AIDS and LGBT charities, as well as other diseases and persuasions, list upon request. He is frequently mistaken for Travis Kelce’s mother, Donna. Google her and you'll see why.
GMCLA is excited to present Bruce Vilanch with our Artistic Voice Award for his decades long contributions to the entertainment industry as a writer, performer, and advocate. As a publicly out entertainment personality, Vilanch has been a trailblazer for queer voices in the entertainment industry.
