Community Engagement

As part of its Mission, GMCLA extends its reach beyond concert performances and into the community in these important ways; through the Alive Music Project, and Arts for Incarcerated Youth Network. We are proud to announce our new Partnership for LA Schools program, which started in the fall of 2018.

The Alive Music Project (AMP)

Reaching over 65,000+ students in Southern California,  AMP is our in-school anti-bullying program of choral performances, music education, and colorful glimpses into the lives of our diverse singers.

Gay Men’s Chorus of Los Angeles has expanded the reach of AMP to work with incarcerated youth in Los Angeles County’s juvenile correctional system as a member of The Arts for Healing and Justice Network (AHJN). We join an interdisciplinary collaboration of outstanding organizations providing exceptional arts programming to build resiliency and wellness, eliminate recidivism, and transform the juvenile justice system.
