No other corporation in America has been as generous or as supportive of the LGBT Community for as long as Wells Fargo has. For over 30 years, Wells Fargo has set the standard for Corporate America by steadfastly supporting the LGBT Community and all Diverse Communities throughout the country with generous charitable contributions and active employee volunteerism. We are proud that once again, Wells Fargo returns this year as GMCLA’s Season Sponsor with support for our Community Outreach Programs.
At a time when very few, if any, US Companies supported LGBT issues, Wells Fargo, headquartered in San Francisco took the lead and continues to do so. Wells Fargo’s record of progressive, thoughtful and strategic giving is simply remarkable. The company is consistently ranked among the top three corporate donors in the country. And while the profile of the disease has changed, it is important to note that Wells Fargo was among the first US Companies to support fledgling HIV/AIDS non-profit organizations at the terrifying outset of the epidemic – when no other companies had the guts to do so. Their leadership and courage are worthy of the highest praise. And over 300 non-profit Boards in Los Angeles have Wells Fargo employees serving as Board Members in the Greater Los Angeles Region.
GMCLA is proud to have Wells Fargo Senior Vice President of Marketing for the Western United States, Stacy Smithers on our Board of Directors; and a huge thanks to Vice President and Head of Community Relations in Los Angeles, Gregg Sherkin for his great support as well. Also a special thank you to Susan Choo who manages operations for the Foundation in the Los Angeles Region. True friends to our Community, and true friends to Gay Men’s Chorus of Los Angeles.
