From 2015 to 2018 Lou Spisto served on the GMCLA Board of Directors. He is a Tony-nominated producer and a nonprofit arts administrator who has led several of the country’s most prominent arts organizations including two in Southern California.
As Executive Producer for The Old Globe, Spisto raised $75 million for a campaign which included a new theatre and education center, and produced 16 plays and musicals in three venues for ten seasons.
At the Pacific Symphony as Executive Director for 11 years he tripled the annual budget, erased a deficit and built an endowment with the first capital campaign, and created one of the industry’s leading music education programs.
Lou’s projects on Broadway: YOU CAN’T TAKE IT WITH YOU, THE GLASS MENAGERIE, LOVE LETTERS, ROCKY and BIG FISH; on London’s West End: STRANGERS ON A TRAIN; and at the Kirk Douglas Theatre in LA: RECORDED IN HOLLYWOOD.
He holds a MA in Arts Management from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a BBA from the University of Notre Dame.
