GMCLA and Mano a Mano dedicate Summer Concert in wake of Orlando Tragedy

American and Cuban Gay Choruses to Dedicate Summer Concert – “Oye Mi Canto” – to Lives Lost to Violence

(LOS ANGELES) – JUNE 16, 2016 – On June 25 and 26, the Gay Men’s Chorus of Los Angeles (GMCLA) and Cuba’s gay men’s chorus Mano a Mano will join together for a historic performance that will bond LGBT brothers and sisters in harmony and celebrate Latin culture, and moreover, the Cuban soul.

In the wake of last week’s unconscionable attack at Pulse Nightclub in Orlando in which the world instantly witnessed the incomprehensible loss of nearly 50 lives from the Latino LGBT community, GMCLA and Mano a Mano will dedicate this concert – “Hear My Song” (Oye Mi Canto) – to those precious lives that were so tragically and mercilessly lost to hatred and violence, and reflect on the voices that will no longer be heard.

GMCLA and Mano a Mano invite us all to come together to honor those who will be missed, celebrate and affirm the LGBT Latino community, and begin the healing process.

A portion of proceeds from the concert will be donated to the victims’ family fund.
