Four years ago The Gay Men’s Chorus of Los Angeles (GMCLA) and The It Gets Better Tour visited the Miami University campus for a weeklong residency culminating in a musical performance at the Hall Auditorium. They returned this week, and while the mission statement is the same — addressing lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender issues and sharing stories, particularly regarding bullying and ostracism — the content of the show will be significantly different.

“We revise for topicality,” said Liesel Reinhart, the creator and director of the show.

The It Gets Better Tour travels frequently, meeting LGBT people and hearing their stories. Ultimately, eight of those stories have been selected to be dramatized for the show. Eight members of the GMCLA will portray the storytellers, mixing the narratives with song.
